Lettuce with Shrimps in Cognac Sauce (Ensalada con Gambas al Conac)
A true classic – enjoy it as a starter for an elegant dinner.
You can also use the sauce to complement other types of fish.
You can enjoy it with some cool white wine, or if you prefer, a good red wine will also perfectly complement the flavor of the sauce.

Ingredients
- 16-24 Shrimps depending on size
- 1 cup Mayonnaise
- 4 TBSP Ketchup
- 1 TBSP Dijon mustard
- 2 TBSP Cognac
- 1/2 TBSP Worcestershire Sauce
- Tabasco
- Lettuce
- garlic
- Fresh Parsley
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Black Pepper coarse

Instructions
- Fry the shrimps together with the garlic in some olive oil.
- Remove and let cool down.
- In a bowl, mix the mayonaise, ketchup, mustard, cognac, Worcestershire sauce and tabasco together until you have an evenly pink coloured mixture.
- Take four plates and distribute the lettuce on them.
- On top of the lettuce, place a generous amount of pink sauce you have just prepared.
- Take 4-6 (depending on size) shrimps gently put them on top of the pink sauce.
- Decorate with some fresh parsley and coarsely ground black pepper.
